Paper Issues Product Spotlight - Shimelle Little by Little

11:00

Hey scrappy friends! Hope you are all well! This layout is up on the Paper Issues blog today for the Product Spotlight. We're creating with Shimelle's lovely new collection; Little by Little.

I used this gorgeous photo of my boyfriend and our 2 youngest boys that I took on a recent walk in the woods. The photo went perfectly with this cut file from the Silhouette Store.

I cut the quote on my Cameo3 and backed it with coloured card stock, then added a strip of the beautiful chevron paper on each side of the page.
I also matted the photo on the same chevron paper for coordination.
I then used the ephemera pack, the accent stickers, the wooden buttons, and the little puffy stickers to embellish my page.

I absolutely adore the little puffy animal stickers, aren't they so cute!

Paper Issues - Scraplift Sunday 19th Feb

10:00

Hiiiiiii friends!
Today is Scraplift Sunday over at Paper Issues, and we're lifting this gorgeous layout by Becky Stidham.

I absolutely love those layers of different patterned papers peeking out from behind the photo, and the colours are gorgeous too. Since I really love the blues and yellows I chose to use the new Jen Hadfield collection - Simple Life. It has some beautiful patterned papers in.

I also love the little clusters of wooden hearts and enamel dots Becky has used, so I've tried to stick to her original as closely as possible.

The papers I chose perfectly matched my photo, and the cake sticker was just perfect!

So here's my take on her layout!

Please feel free to have a go at scraplifting Becky's page too, and come and show us over at the Paper Issues Facebook group. If you'd like to buy Simple Life, don't forget to use code: Pol for 20% off at the Paper Issues Store!

Paper Issues - Scrap 'n Chat Challenge Feb 17th

07:00

Hi scrappy friends!
So Paper Issues are having a fun Scrap 'n Chat evening with the following challenge...

Unfortunately it's 2-5am here in the UK so I can't join in live. However, I did join in with the challenge and made a layout!
I used Shimelle's new Little by Little collection and the cutest photo of my son and stepson in a den in the woods! These boys are Trouble with a capital T! It's a good job they are so cute!
The 8 prompts I chose were:
Enamel Dots,
Gold,
Journaling,
Date Stamp,
Tag,
Label,
Alpha Stickers,
and Washi.
I absolutely love the banner I've made at the top with stickers, twine and wooden buttons, and aren't those little puffy animal stickers peeking out from behind the feather adorable!

Thank you for stopping by today, hope you pop in again very soon!

Paper Issues Product Spotlight - Jen Hadfield Simple Life

11:00

Hi scrappy friends! Today on the Paper Issues blog we're featuring Jen Hadfield's new collection, Simple Life.

I must admit I was slightly overwhelmed by all the browns in this collection, but on closer inspection there is plenty of gorgeous floral papers too. I also love using the dark wood grain papers as backgrounds.

I started with a free Paper Issues cut file and backed it with both sides of 2 floral papers. I then chose 3 contrasting papers to tuck behind my photo, added a tag from the ephemera pack, and positioned it all on one side of my cut file.

My title came from the puffy stickers and some alphas from my stash. I then added 3 clusters of ephemera and stickers at various points round the cut file, and a flair from A Flair for Buttons.

The only thing I don't like about the stickers is that they are very transparent which means they don't show up as well on patterned papers.

If you fancy buying Simple Life, pop on over to the Paper Issues store and remember to use code: Pol at the checkout for 20% off your entire order.
If you've done any new layouts using Jen Hadfield, please do share them with us on the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook group.

Paper Issues - Roll the Dice

11:00

Hey guys! Today I have a layout on the Paper Issues blog for the Roll the Dice Challenge. February's challenge is to use 5 or more photos, and 3 or more circles.

I made a different layout before this one, but I wasn't keen on it, so I wanted to do another. I was struggling with 5 photos, I only ever usually use 1 photo on a page, 2 at most.

However, when I took these photos of my little cutie covered in bubbles in the bath, I knew they'd be perfect for this page!

I used Cocoa Vanilla Studios Love Always collection, and added a sheet of paper from the Free Spirit collection.

I cut the bath shape with my Silhouette Cameo, then punched out the photos and bubbles with a range of different sized circular punches. I stuck them all on the page to give the effect of bubbles in the bath, then poked holes and hand stitched around the bath and each of the bubbles.

I felt it was missing a bit of sparkle so I sprinkled a handful of the Cool Breeze Sequin Mix from Lucy's Cards over the top.

I then added my title 'Adorabubble' using my brand new Thickers Alignment Guides (which are fantastic!), and some little groups of ephemera tucked in so as not to spoil the overall look.

If you fancy buying yourself some new stash, pop on over to the Paper Issues store and remember to use code: Pol at the checkout for 20% off your entire order.

Paper Issues - Mix It Up Monday

11:00

Hey everyone! Today I have a layout on the Paper Issues blog for Mix It Up Monday. February's challenge is to use embossing powder on your page.

I have to admit, I'm not that great with embossing powder so I kept it fairly minimal. I did like the way it turned out though.

To start with I used a Just Nick cut file and converted it to a stitching template. I then hand stitched it with pinks, green, and black, to match the Crate Paper Heart Day collection I used.

When my stitching was complete, I ran the edges of my page through my Versamark Pad and embossed with black powder. I like the effect this gives, as its subtle but makes the page stand out more. I also half embossed the wooden XO piece.
I love the photo I used of me and my 3 children, it's one of my favourites.
I used Heart Day papers to back my photo, and fussy cut the flowers from one of the papers.
Then I added some wooden hearts from my stash, and a flair from Cuts2luv
I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum in order to showcase the stitched title.

I do hope you'll join in this challenge over on the Paper Issues Facebook group. Share your layouts and you can be in with a chance of winning a Paper Issues voucher!

Paper Issues - Cut It Up Challenge

11:00

Hiiiiii scrappy friends! Today I have a layout on the Paper Issues blog for Februarys Cut It Up challenge.
Stacie created some beautiful cut files - this gorgeous heart tracks background, and some sweet titles and words.
I used the lovely Crate Paper Heart Day collection for this page, and backed the cut file with a beautiful ombre Websters Pages paper.
I had this photo of me and my gorgeous girl already printed in a smaller size so I decided to do a grid type layout with all the similar size tags in the collection, and the bits of ephemera and chipboard I had left.

Please do pop on over to the Paper Issues Facebook group and share any new layouts you make with this lovely cut file, to be in with a chance of winning a Paper Issues voucher!

Paper Issues - Pawsitively Pets

11:00

Hey guys! I'm on the Paper Issues blog today with this fun layout for the Pawsitively Pets challenge.

The prompt was to scrap what you love most about the animal in your life. I have 3 kids and a stepson so I have plenty of animals in my life! Ha!
However, as we don't have any actual pets I used this cute photo of my youngest son and my stepson with the Gruffalo!
We did the Gruffalo trail at a local forest last weekend and the boys loved finding him. He fits right in with the family!

I used Crate Paper Cool Kid and Cocoa Vanilla Studio Totally Rad collections.
For the branches I used American Crafts wood grain cardstock.
I've had both these collections in my stash for quite a while and I'm really enjoying scrapping lots of boy photos with them at the moment. They are perfect for these 2 cheeky little, always on the go, monkeys!

I do hope you'll join in this challenge over on the Paper Issues Facebook group. Share your layouts and you can be in with a chance of winning a Paper Issues voucher!

Paper Issues Product Spotlight - Dear Lizzy

11:00

Hey guys! Today I'm up on the Paper Issues blog with a layout for the Product Spotlight. This week we're featuring the Dear Lizzy Lovely Day collection.

The background paper I used is Simple Stories, and I cut the wood effect 'planks' up and slightly distressed the edges to make it look more realistic.
I used a free cut file from the Paper Issues store, and backed it with Lovely Day papers, which I chose because I thought they went well with my photo. The photo is my youngest sons and nephews team playing Tug of War on their school Sports Day.
I used the Dear Lizzy thickers for my title, and a few carefully placed pieces of ephemera and  enamel dots later and I was done.

If you fancy buying Lovely Day, or anything else, pop on over to the Paper Issues store and remember to use code: Pol at the checkout for 20% off your entire order.
If you've done any new layouts using Lovely Day, please do share them with us on the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook group.

Paper Issues - Take 5 Tuesday

11:00

Hi guys! Today I have a layout on the Paper Issues blog, for Take 5 Tuesday.
The prompts are:

On my layout I used:
2. White
3. Yellow
5. Stitching
10. Cardstock
13. Arrow
14. 2 patterned papers

I used a free cut and stitch file from the Paper Issues store, and 1canoe2's lovely Hazelwood collection. I added a flair badge from cuts2luv
The cut file is perfect for this hexagon paper, and the blue papers matched this photo of me with my 17 yr old son.
I chose the thickers because they are all words I associate with him, and advice I would give him - 'be kind', 'create', 'dream', and the cut file words were perfect too.

If you'd like to participate in Take 5 Tuesday, please pop on over to the Paper Issues Friends & Fans Facebook page and show us what you make, to be in with a chance of winning a Paper Issues voucher!

Paper Issues Sketchy Saturday

11:00

Hey scrappy friends! Today I'm up on the Paper Issues blog with a layout for Sketchy Saturday.

Here's the sketch...

Here's my take on the sketch using Crate Paper Heart Day.

I used a really cute photo of my youngest son and my little nephew looking adorable on a family walk in the woods!

First I splattered my white cardstock with green and pink ink, then I cut the background using a free Ashley Horton cutfile from the Hip Kit website.

I used Heart Day ephemera, chipboard and embellishments, then finished off the page with those incredibly cute little heart stickers.

Paper Issues Pinspire Me Challenge

11:00

Hi everyone! I'm up on the Paper Issues blog today with a layout for this months Pinspire Me mood board challenge.

February's mood board is gorgeous...

I was inspired by the myriad of heart shapes and right in the middle, that yummy looking donut!

I used a free hearts cut file from the Paper Issues store and Crate Paper Heart Day papers, ephemera, chipboard, stickers and embellishments.

To stop the pink being too overwhelming, especially as I was using a photo of my boyfriend, I made sure I added some pops of green with the ombre paper and the Amy Tan thickers.

The donut ephemera went perfectly with the pink Dear Lizzy thickers to make the rest of the fun title.

To finish off I added a few splats of black ink and some black Bella Blvd heart stickers.

Paper Issues Working Title Challenge

11:00

Hey guys! Today I have a layout up on the Paper Issues blog, for this months Working Title challenge. As February is the month of love, the project title needs to feature either the word 'Love' or 'Heart', include a heart icon, or be a romantic song title.

I used a gorgeous cut file from the Silhouette Store on another project, but the cut out negative was far too pretty not to use! Using the original as a template, I stuck the cut outs to this red Amy Tan Better Together paper. I then outlined the biggest 'Love' with black pen for my title.

I chose a really cute school photo of my son and stepson, who really are partners in crime! They run rings around us between them, so it's a good thing they're cute and can get away with most things by batting their eyelashes at us!

I embellished the page using 1canoe2's Hazelwood ephemera and fussy cut flowers and butterflies. I then added the finishing touches with a Project Life flair and some beautiful Freckled Fawn puffy gold heart stickers.
